covered by CSD - CSD can pay for curricular supplies that are educational and complement the student's goals and Individual Learning Plan. Curricular materials may include textbooks, workbooks, CD's or DVD's of an educational nature, art materials, science kits, general and consumable school supplies, on-line courses, college courses, community-based learning opportunities, performing arts experiences, computer games of an educational nature, and other materials or resources that meet the student's needs. family travel, including transportation, food, or lodging: or for expenses during, or for any travel out-of-state unless a governing body or superintendent of the district approves expenses incurred in the out-of-state travel that are associated with direct instructional activities; in this paragraph, "family travel" does not include travel in which the student is accompanied by the students family for assessments or other required, activities initiated by the district; annual passes or family memberships to a sports or recreational facility; however, an annual pass or membership for the student may be purchased for entry into a sports or recreational facility in which the student is provided lessons under the students individual learning plan (Course Approval Plan), if the cost of the pass or membership is prorated to include only the cost of the students instructional time; fees
that allow entrance to a facility in which
no instruction directly connected to the
student's individual learning plan under
(e) (1) of this section is
given; religious,
partisan, sectarian, or denominational
textbooks or other curriculum
materials; services
provided to a student by a family member;
in this paragraph, "family member" means
the students spouse, guardian, parent,
step-parent, sibling, step-sibling,
grandparent, step-grandparent, child,
uncle, or aunt; clothing,
uniforms, physical education equipment, or
other personal items; pets or
animals; furniture; taxes,
testing other than educational assessments
required by the district, or parking
fee entertainment permanent
items that adhere to or enhance the value
of a non-school facility; or items
that are considered excessive by the
school administrator Technology
Reimbursement* - Students in K-12 can purchase their own computer and receive a reimbursement from CSD for one half the purchase price of the equipment, not to exceed $350 per student. This technology reimbursement can be used for computers, printers, digital camera, or other equipment with the approval of the advisory teacher and district office. It is understood that students who choose to purchase technology equipment will own that equipment and will assume responsibility for maintaining it. Internet
Access - CSD will reimburse for Internet costs for students in grades K-12. Parents/students will need to sign up and pay for Internet connectivity. When submitting Internet charges for reimbursement, please consider your child's academic needs and the amount of Internet usage that actually goes to support your child's education.

Curriculum & Purchasing

Student Allotments*
Annual allotments are based on the grade level of the student:

* Included in these allotments, CSD will reimburse up to $350 per student towards the purchase of a computer or related hardware.
Purchasing Guidelines - All purchases must be justified within the purview of the Individual Learning Plan or Developmental Report Card. In addition, requests for supplies and materials must be aligned to the Standards and Levels in which the student is progressing. All purchases must be an economical use of district funds and are subject to final approval by the CSD Superintendent. (All non-consumable materials purchased with district funds are the property of CSD and must be returned to the Extension School office upon withdrawal unless the family chooses to purchase these materials at a depreciated rate upon the approval of the advisory teacher. Fines maybe assessed to recover the cost of lost or damaged materials.

* Reimbursement is only made upon successful completion of the service or course. District policy allows students $850 from their allotment to be used for Art, Music, and PE (AMPE). Parents may request the use of the students remaining allotment to be used for AMOE by contacting their advisory teacher.
Supplies/ Materials NOT covered by CSD - 4AAC 33.421(k) a statewide correspondence study program may not pay for or provide money for:
