Communication between the
students, parents, and teachers is important in maintaining
a positive learning environment for our students. Students,
parents, and teachers need to work together to set the years
goals and then monitor progress towards those goals.
Student Assessment Binder(SAB): The SAB is a
tool the student and teacher use to monitor progress, store
past assessments, and keep sample work. These are maintained
on a weekly basis and are never out of the students
site.
SAB Snapshot: This is a one page visual that
shows students, parents, and teachers were a student is
located along the continuum in each content area.
Parent Conferences: Early in the year and then
periodically through out the year, meetings are set between
students, parents, and teachers so that Individual Learning
Plans or ILP's can be developed and monitored.
Quarterly Report: Each quarter a progress
report is sent home to keep parents informed about their
students progress.
Permanent Records: Students have a one page
permanent record that is maintained on a yearly basis.
Developmental Diploma: Our diploma not only
shows the 10 content areas and a list of basic skills for
Reading, Writing, and Mathematics, it also shows a students
strengths.
Individual
Learning Plan (ILP)
An Individual Learning Plan is a custom designed
document written and used by students, teachers, and parents
to best meet the educational needs of the individual
student. Goals are identified and tied to standards focusing
on student driven performance, implementation, and
accountability.
