Projects / Research
Students work with scientists (and
their associated agencies) on various
research projects.
These projects change over the years, depending upon research timelines and funding. Students are often involved in a study that covers several years but then the focus shifts as funding or research nears completion.

Students are involved in research and
projects in a variety of ways: collecting
samples, recording data, monitoring and
calibrating equipment in the field,
facilitating community meetings or
surveys, analyzing and/or presenting
information.
Doing so often involves travel by boat or
small plane to remote sampling sites. Many
agree that this is the best part of the
"classroom"!
